Word?

A week from tonight I'll be leaving Grove City for a month. In some ways that's a sad thought, cause life here is great, but a month without schoolwork sounds good to me!

Sometimes I wonder why so many middle-class Americans try to sound "ghetto" when they talk. Why have rap and R&B become so popular? Do those whippersnappers really want to become lower-income urbanites? I do talk a little "inner-city-ish" myself occasionally - but the idea that our generation has chosen the "de-sophistication" route is alarming. Hopefully this phenomenon is NOT foretelling something about our future. It's bad enough that our kids are going to look back on our generation's music and see most of it for the trash that it is - polluted with every four letter word you can imagine. How much more moral decay will God tolerate from a nation that He has blessed so much?

But yeah, word my roommate and everyone else who enjoys talking "ghetto." Just guard your hearts. I hope y'all have a marvelous Thursday. One more day till the weekend! (Of course, if you go to Grove City the weekend before finals may not be your favorite. We'll live.)
